Richard Gerling has been a wood sculptor for over twenty years. He is a retired police officer and a Korean War navy vet.  His first large eagles were "roughed out" using a full size chain saw and then hand-carved and finished.  These would be particularly impressive in a large executive office, or in a large den or library.

Since then, he has focused on rocking horses . A wooden rocking horse is perfect for creative play by children. They are a traditional first birthday gift and are wonderful for Christmas. These unique rocking-horses, in glowing natural wood, are also appropriate for collectors .  They are uniquely American, with a liveliness not seen in a Victorian style rocking horse.  Each  wood rocking horse is slightly different and the choice of woods and stain can make a big difference in appearance.  Please click on  rocking horses to see photos and details on ordering.  Again, each is unique, we can customize but not make exact copies due to variability of natural materials and carving style
